Privacy Policy
This site is operated by Play Big Inc. on behalf of Nancy Giordano. We collect as little personal information as we can, we never sell it, and this page explains what we do collect and why.
Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to nancygiordano.com and to the emails you send us from it. It does not cover third-party sites we link to, such as Amazon, YouTube, Spotify or LinkedIn, which have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways.
- Information you give us. When you write to us about a keynote, workshop, press request or anything else, we receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are read most. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, payment card numbers, government identifiers or other sensitive personal data.
How we use it
- To answer your enquiry and, if you book Nancy, to organise the engagement.
- To keep the site secure, reliable and fast.
- To understand which essays, talks and media are most useful to readers.
- To comply with the law.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and embedded content
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Some pages embed content from other services, such as YouTube videos or podcast players. When you play that content, the provider may set its own cookies and collect data under its own policy. Videos on this site load only after you press play.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the site and answer your messages, such as our hosting company and email provider, and only to the extent needed to do so. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Email correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to the relationship, typically while we are working together and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are kept for a short, rolling period by our hosting provider.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. To exercise any of them, email us at nancy@playbiginc.com.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Substantive changes will be noted here for a reasonable period.
